On February 18, 2025, it was announced that Seulgi would be releasing her second mini album titled Accidentally On Purpose on March 10.[2]
Composition[]
The title song "Baby, Not Baby" is a pop dance song that dramatically develops into a funk bass and a cool electric guitar performance. Producer Kenzie wrote the lyrics which wittily expresses Seulgi's personality and character, giving an honest and confident message of focusing on her true self without being limited by the image or role that the other person expects. Just like the album title, which paradoxically means "intentional mistake", the title song is expected to show Seulgi's contrasting charms.[3]
"Better Dayz" is described as an alternative pop song with unexpected twist, while Seulgi's restrained, humming-like vocals, give a mysterious atmosphere to the song. The lyrics depict the paradox of hope while guiding another person to escape into a dream and forget about reality for a moment.[4]
Meanwhile, "Weakness" is a love song with dreamy EP sound and soft melody. The lyrics, that Seulgi participated in writing, express the infinitely clumsy and weak feelings of love that one realizes too late.[4]
"Rollin' (With My Homies)" is an R&B pop song with an urban mood from the United States' West Coast. The lyrics described a small everyday life romance that arose on an impromptu trip with friends.[5]
Meanwhile, "Whatever", is a medium tempo R&B pop song with groovy rhythm and laid-back vocals. The lyrics talk about walking at our own pace without caring about what people say about someone or how one look, reflecting Seulgi's motto on how to approach life.[4]
Moreover, "Praying" is described as a slow-tempo R&B song with bass sound and dreamy vocals, creating a deep lingering feeling and awe for a precious being who always supports you and makes you live again.[4]
