Aaron (아론), also known by his full name Aaron Kwak (곽아론), is an independent Korean-American singer-songwriter, rapper, radio DJ, MC and podcast host. He is a former member of the boy group NU'EST under his previous stage name Aron.
He made his solo debut with the digital single "Time Difference" on June 1, 2023.
Career[]
2012: NU'EST's debut[]
Aron debuted as a member of NU'EST on March 15, 2012 with their first single "Face".
2017–2018: NU'EST W[]
As fellow member Minhyun debuted in the project group Wanna One, the other members formed the four-member subgroup NU'EST W (the W in the name means the group is waiting for him to return), as they released three mini albums between 2017 and 2018.
2021: Hiatus and return[]
On January 2, 2021, Aron announced that he would be going on a hiatus to focus on treatment after a medical review, as he has been experiencing symptoms of anxiety.[1]
On June 29, Aron announced on a special Naver V Live that his health improved and that he would be returning from his hiatus.[2]
2022: NU'EST's disbandment, starting as an independent artist, joining Korean Cowboys Podcast, After School Club, and First Solo Fan-meeting[]
On February 28, 2022, Pledis Entertainment announced that the NU'EST members' contracts would expire on March 14 and Aron decided not to renew with the company.[3] NU'EST released their compilation album named Needle & Bubble with the title track "Again" (Korean title: 다시, 봄) on March 15 before officially ending their 10 years promotion period as a group.[4]
On March 25, the first episode of Korean Cowboys Podcast was uploaded on different streaming platforms. Korean Cowboys Podcast is a weekly podcast hosted by Joel Lane and Aaron Kwak.[5]
