Free In Sass (프린세스) is an upcoming four-member girl group under AMX Entertainment. Their debut date is currently unknown.

Their group name is a pun on the word "princess".

History[]

Pre-debut[]

On June 10, 2020, AMX Entertainment announced that they will debut a girl group in 2021.[1]

On May 25, 2021, they revealed their first trainee Kim Hyejin.[2] The second trainee Haeun and third trainee Gaeun were revealed on June 17.[3] Their fourth trainee Lee Eunsu was revealed on August 17.[4]

During this time, several trainees were announced to have departed the agency, namely trainees Ahn Seol, Han Rio, and Shin Seoyoon.[5][6] Though there were earlier trainees only identified through their Naver blog.

A month later, on September 24, 2021, they revealed that their debut plans were delayed and therefore postponed to 2022.[7]

Staring in 2022, new trainees Seungjoo (later Jooah) and Daeun (later Dan A) were revealed on March 11 and March 28 respectively.[8]

On May 16, 2022, AMX Entertainment revealed a teaser photo with the captions stating that they will reveal their debut team name soon.[9] The following day, in a news statement release, the agency stated that their upcoming girl group will make their debut sometime in October.[10][11]

In early October 2022, the agency deleted all the girl groups previous SNS posts, including pictures and videos, suggesting their group had been finalized and will debut soon.[12]

Later, that same month on October 21, 2022, they revealed a new member, Yoona, through a choreography concept video on YouTube.[13] From December 1, 2022, Free In Sass released official profile photos for all members, which was confirmed to have been finalized at six, and included a new unrevealed member, Jiyeon.[14]

On January 16, 2023, AMX Entertainment announced, through an Instagram story, that Yoona had terminated her contract and left the group due to personal reasons.

In April 2023, AMX Entertainment announced that Gaeun had terminated her contract and left the group due to unknown reasons.

Trivia[]

  • The company has decided on a long trainee period to prepare their girl group well and because they believe groups with little to no training have short life-spans[17]
  • They will be recording a pre-debut song.[18]
  • Kim Hyejin and Gaeun were back-up dancers for Jang Minho, formerly of '90s pop group U-BeS, during Mr. Trot.[19]
