ALICE (앨리스), formerly known as ELRIS, is a two-member girl group under NS ENM. Originally as five, they debuted on June 1, 2017 with the mini album We, First.

History[]

2017: Debut with We, First, Color Crush, MIXNINE[]

On June 1, 2017, the group made their debut under the name ELRIS with the mini album We, First. Three months later on September 13, they released their second mini album Color Crush.

In late 2017, members Bella and Hyeseong participated in the reality show MIXNINE. Both of them unfortunately did not make it to the final lineup of the female winners.

2018–2019: Summer Dream, "Miss U"[]

On June 28, 2018, the group released their third mini album Summer Dream.

On November 12, 2019, they released their first digital single "Miss U".

2020: Addition of EJ and Chaejeong, Jackpot[]

On February 12, it was announced that the group would return with two new members, EJ and Chaejeong, for their comeback with Jackpot on February 26.[1]

2021–2022: New label and group name, leadership changes, "Power of Love", and "Dance On"[]

On December 1, 2021, it was announced that the group would be transferred from Hunus Entertainment to IOK Company.[2]

On April 11, 2022, the group's name was rebranded to ALICE, and the name Yeonjae was shown in promotional materials instead of Hyeseong, leading to speculation that Hyeseong has changed her stage name.[3] A day later, IOK Company confirmed that Hyeseong has changed both her stage name and legal name to Yeonje, while member Bella has changed her stage name to Do-A.[4] On April 13, 2022, it was revealed that the group are preparing to comeback in May.[5] On April 20, 2022, IOK Company announced that Chaejeong would take over the leader position after multiple discussions with the members and company.[6]

On April 26, 2022, teaser photos were released for their second digital single "Power of Love", which was released on May 4. It was originally set to be released on May 3 but was delayed by a day due to issues between the production and distribution companies.[7]

On October 5, 2022, a promotion scheduler was revealed for the group's comeback with the single album "Dance On", which was released on October 27.[8]

2023–2024: Do-A and Yeonje's hiatuses, "Show Down", multiple members' departure, "Milky Way"[]

On March 6, 2023, it was announced that Do-A and Yeonje would be taking a break from activities due to health reasons and that the group would continue promotions with five members for the time being.[9]

On April 3, it was announced that ALICE would be coming back with their second single album, "Show Down", on April 19.[10]

On April 26, 2024, IOK Company revealed that Sohee's exclusive contract will expire in May 2024 with her planning on retiring from the industry to focus on her personal life.[11]

On May 3, Do-A shared through an Instagram post that her exclusive contract with IOK had concluded.[12] Later that day, Yukyung revealed that her contract had also concluded.[13] On that same day, Karin shared a farewell message through her Bubble account stating that her contract had expired.[14] Yeonje subsequently shared that she had also left IOK.[15] The group is presumably in the process of disbandment.

On May 9, it was announced that the group would be coming back with their third digital single "Milky Way", to be released on May 13.[16] This release is the group's final release with seven members.

The future of the group remains uncertain as ALICE has only two remaining members.
