4X (포엑스), formerly known as Shot Girl, was a four-member girl group under JR Starstudio. They made their Chinese debut on April 29, 2015 with "Yummy" and Korean debut on January 11, 2017 with "Secret Night".
The group presumably disbanded in 2020 due to inactivity.
History[]
2014: Shot Girl[]
In 2014, the group was formed by Beijing Baile Huazhang International Culture Media Co., Ltd. under the name Shot Girl. The group consisted of Dayoung, Hyoe,[n 1] Yeondu and Say.[1]
2015: Rebrand to 4X, Chinese debut with "Yummy" and "口水擦干净"[]
In March 2015, Shot Girl announced plans to change their group name to 4X and release their first Chinese single the same year.[2] The lineup then consisted of Yeondu, Say, Hyoe and Bobae.
On April 29, 4X made their debut in China with their first digital single "Yummy". The lineup for this release included Yeondu, Say, Bobae, Hyoe and Heeil, who left shortly after.[n 2]
On November 3, they released their second Chinese digital single "口水擦干净".
2016: Hyoe's departure, addition of Jaeeun, "Secret Night" and "Just Friend"[]
On May 14, 2016, Hyoe announced that she would be leaving 4X to pursue an acting career and revealed that the group planned to recruit a new member.[3] Shortly after this, Jaeeun began promoting as their newest member.[4]
On July 25, they returned with their third Chinese digital single "Secret Night".
On November 2, they released their fourth Chinese digital single "Just Friend".
2017-2018: Korean debut with "Secret Night" and hiatus[]
On January 11, 2017, 4X officially made their debut in Korea with the re-release of "Secret Night".[5] Sometime later that same year, Jaeeun left the group and was replaced by Bora.
Between 2017 and 2019, the group remained largely inactive, presumably due to the THAAD political conflict.
2019-2020: Return to China and disbandment[]
In December 2019, the group began promoting in China again.[6] However, they became inactive once again shortly after this and was presumed to have disbanded sometime in 2020.
