[0] is the fifth (labeled as 'the origin album') and second canceled mini album by LOONA. "Freesm" serves as the album's title track. It was originally set to be released on January 3, 2023 but it had been postponed and ultimately canceled due to all 12 members successfully having their contracts from BlockBerryCreative terminated.[1]
It would have been their first release since Chuu's removal on November 25, 2022.[2]
The album comes in 4 versions: A, B, C, and D.
Background[]
On December 7, 2022, BlockBerryCreative announced that LOONA are currently preparing for a comeback, but the date has not been confirmed.[3] On December 12, 2022, a teaser was released for their upcoming comeback, which will be released on January 3.[4] On December 13, it was revealed from the album trailer that they would be releasing their origin album, which will be called [0].[5] On December 16, it was announced that LOONA would not hold a media showcase or fan showcase for the comeback.[6]
On December 22, 2022, BlockBerryCreative announced through LOONA's fancafe that the album has been postponed indefinitely due to the recent events surrounding the group.[7] It also later became known that the members of the group themselves were not notified that they would have a comeback.
On June 16, 2023, it was announced that all 12 members have successfully terminated their contracts with BlockBerryCreative, thereby canceling the release of the mini album.[1]
