+(KR)ystal Eyes <Aesthetic> (also known simply as Aesthetic) is the debut mini album by +(KR)ystal Eyes.[Notes 1] It was released on May 4, 2023 with "Cherry Talk" serving as the album's title track.

The physical album comes in three versions: A, B, and Objekt Music Album.

Background[]

On April 20, 2023, it was announced that their debut album, which is called Aesthetic, would be released on May 4.[1] Described as "a taste that's 82 degrees different from Acid Angel from Asia", +(KR)ystal Eyes reinterpreted Y2K's sensibility with the music taste of 2023. Now that Y2K is in vogue, what would it look like if the girls from that time leaped to this world and were active? The mini-album 'AESTHETIC' was chosen in the sense of pursuing the most aesthetic album that maximized the charms of +(KR)ystal Eyes members. It is full of six Y2K concept conceptual tracks.[2]

On May 4, it was announced on the group's Twitter account that the music video release has been delayed in order to achieve the best quality possible. It will be release sometime after the digital album release.[3] The music video was released on May 5 at 9pm.[4]

Composition[]

Aesthetic opens with the sensuous first track, "Cherry 100%", an intro that leads into the title track, "Cherry Talk". [5]

"Cherry Talk" is +(KR)ystal Eyes' colorful interpretation of how we communicate nowadays, where DMs and Instagram stories are more important & more used than phone calls or conversations.[5]

"Touch" is both nostalgic and fresh, reimagining the late 90s girl group sound.[5]

"Hide & Seek" is said to be a song with a theme of a 'special confession' by girls who can't express their love and hide it tightly.[5]

The song, "Deja-Vu", was written, composed and arranged by tripleS' fourteenth member, SoHyun. It is a spin-off track of "Rising", the title track of tripleS' debut album Assemble, capturing the adventures of the girls and building onto tripleS' worldview and lore.[5]

The final song in the album is +(KR)ystal Eyes' version of the group's theme song, "Dimension (KRE Ver.)", which was first revealed by tripleS' first sub-unit, Acid Angel from Asia."[5]

A debut showcase, The Premier Stage ‘Cherry Show’, was held on May 4 at 10pm KST.[6]

On May 5, Modhaus announced that, due to external circumstances, the group will only be able to promote on M Countdown.[7]
