Irene (아이린) adalah penyanyi, rapper, dan aktris Korea Selatan di bawah naungan SM Entertainment. Dia adalah leader dari girlband Red Velvet dan anggota sub-unit Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi.

2013: SMROOKIES[]
Pada 9 Desember 2013, Irene terungkap sebagai trainee di bawah SMROOKIES, bersama Lami dan Jaehyun.[1]
2014: Debut bersama Red Velvet[]
Pada 1 Agustus, dia memulai debutnya sebagai anggota Red Velvet dengan single digital "Happiness".
2020: Debut bersama Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi[]
Pada 21 April, SM Entertainment mengonfirmasi bahwa Irene dan sesama anggota Seulgi akan memulai debutnya di sub-unit pertama grup.[2] Pada tanggal 26 Mei, nama unit dan mini album debutnya Monster, serta logo resmi mereka terungkap di akun media sosial Red Velvet.[3] Sub-unit ini secara resmi memulai debutnya pada 6 Juli dengan mini album pertama mereka Monster.
Pada 16 Juli, SM Entertainment mengonfirmasi bahwa Irene akan membuat debut filmnya dengan peran utama dalam film mendatang "Double Patty".[4] Irene akan berperan sebagai pembawa berita yang bercita-cita tinggi bernama Lee Hyunji.[5]

Pada 20 Oktober 2020, editor dan stylist Kang Kook Hwa menerbitkan postingan panjang di Instagram tentang insiden di mana seorang idola wanita menyerangnya secara verbal. Ada spekulasi bahwa itu adalah Irene Red Velvet atau Seulgi karena postingan berakhir dengan tagar "Psycho" dan "Monster"[6][7] Pada tanggal 22, Irene memposting permintaan maaf di Instagram atas perilakunya sementara SM memposting pernyataan yang mengonfirmasi berita tersebut dan menyatakan bahwa Irene secara pribadi telah bertemu dengan stylist untuk meminta maaf.[8]
